History
The Office is in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Maryland College Park. It has been since the 1980s and even earlier when Helmut E. Landsberg helped create the Department of Meteorology, our predecessor, in the late 1960s.
Joseph Moyer was the State Climatologist for Maryland and Delaware from 1963 to 1973, and for Maryland only from 1980 to 1988.
