Dr. Ruiz-Barradas is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Science; he has been on faculty since 2001, after obtaining his Ph.D. here in climate science. He is a Mexican-born US citizen who studied under renowned climatologist Julian Adem ChahĂn in his early career. Dr. Ruiz-Barradas’ observationally focused research targets the origin and mechanisms of regional hydroclimate variability and change and decadal-to-multidecadal climate variability, and seasonal hydroclimate prediction.
